THE RADIO PACK SHACK

The Electrical Engineering Department and the Associated Student Union of the University of Nevada Reno sponsor our Amateur Radio station. Everyone is welcome to visit the station located on top of the Scrugham Engineering and Mines building on the University of Nevada Campus. Most of the equipment was donated to the club.

The UNR Radio Pack 145.29 MHz repeater is located on top of the KNPB Channel 5 building on the UNR campus. This low level machine provides excellent communication in the Reno/Sparks area. This repeater has a minus (-) offset and at times, may require a 123.0 Hz PL tone.

If you are interested in getting your Amateur Radio license you can send us some email and/or read our introduction to HAM radio. It is easier than it seems and the Radio Pack is happy to help. But for now why not try a practice test?
